Cookie Policy
1. Our approach
We use as few cookies as possible. There is exactly one cookie required to run the product, and it is not used for tracking or advertising.
2. Essential cookie
cyber_sess- identifies your logged-in session so the dashboard, scans, and billing work. First-party, HttpOnly, Secure (HTTPS), SameSite=Lax. Lifetime ~30 days.
Because this cookie is strictly necessary to provide the service you requested (GDPR ePrivacy exemption, Art. 5(3) waiver for cookies "strictly necessary" to deliver a requested service), it is set without a consent banner. It cannot be used to track you across other sites.
3. Analytics - cookieless
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for page-view metrics. It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint devices, and does not track you across sites. No consent banner is required for it.
4. What we do not use
- No third-party advertising cookies or ad pixels (Google Ads, Meta Pixel, etc.)
- No cross-site tracking cookies
- No social-media "like/share" widgets that plant tracking cookies
- No fingerprinting scripts
5. OAuth sign-in
If you sign in with Google or GitHub, those providers may set their own cookies during the OAuth redirect. That is governed by Google's and GitHub's own cookie policies, not ours - we only receive the account details described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Local storage
We use browser localStorage (not a cookie) to remember small UI preferences, such as your consumer/pro reading-mode toggle on this site. This never leaves your browser and is not sent to our servers.
7. Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking the essential session cookie will sign you out and prevent login-gated features (dashboard, saved scans, billing) from working.
8. Consent
Because we do not set non-essential cookies, we do not display a cookie-consent banner. If that changes (for example if we add analytics or embeds that require consent), we will add a consent mechanism before those cookies are set and update this page.
